CRANBERRY LIQUEUR 12-16 oz fresh (or frozen) cranberries 1 qt vodka 1 c water 2 c sugar Blend the cranberries and vodka (I do a couple batches to not overload the blender) and pour the results into a glass or plastic container with a good fitting lid. Let sit for 1 or 2 weeks. (This is the time when the color and flavor of the cranberries is being infused into the vodka -- at least I think that is the term). Strain the cranberries from the vodka (first I use a big strainer, and then I use cheese cloth) to end up with a nice red liquid. Heat the sugar and water in a sauce pan until the sugar is dissolved. Let cool. Add to the cranberry liquid and bottle in something nice with a good fitting lid. Use little liqueur glasses along with any meal that also uses or could use cranberries or cranberry sauce. Terrific flavor. Small quantities. ha ha ha A batch or double batch of this lasts most of the year around here.
